About the Department
About this Site
Welcome to our new website. Here we discuss a few of its features.
The Header
The header appears on every page. It contains links to the main home page of the university on the left and that of the physics department on the right.
Navigation
There are three main ways to navigate this site.
- The main facility is the blue horizontal bar just below the header on every page that gives you access to nearly every section of the site.
- The pages within each section are accessible via links in the left navigation column
- The path from the home page can be navigated using the breadcrumbs on the upper right just below the image.
The Home Page
The home page features a "research showcase" that will change roughly quarterly during the year. Past showcases will be archived for a reasonable length of time. There are also three lower sections for highlighting headlines, announcements, news, and events.
The Suggestion Box
The footer, located on every page, contains a link to the department's anonymous suggestion box in the About the Department section. This electronic box replaces the old physical suggestion box that use to sit in KPTC 101. It is only accessible via the campus network and is for students, and others, to provide us with suggestions or comments about courses, professors, seminars and other physics department matters. For truly serious issues, we still recommend direct communication with an appropriate individual. Those not on the campus network who wish to comment on this website, can always click the (non anonymous) "Email Web Editor" link also in the footer.
