Collider Detector at Fermilab

The CDF is designed to study the physics of p-bar-p collisions at very high energy. Event analysis is based on charge-particle tracking, magnetic momentum analysis, and finely segmented calorimeters. Professors Frisch and Shochet and their students (graduate and undergraduate) and Ph.D associates have built trigger electronics for CDF; they also do research on the top quark, supersymmetry, extra dimensions, and other topics.
