A Bit about Black Holes

Black holes touch upon and challenge our best theories of physics, from relativity to quantum mechanics and beyond.  This talk will take a tour through the exotic properties of black holes; explain why they present such a challenge; and describe efforts to understand them using ideas from string theory.
