A Bit about Black Holes
Emil Martinec, University of Chicago
Black holes touch upon and challenge our best theories of physics, from relativity to quantum mechanics and beyond. This talk will take a tour through the exotic properties of black holes; explain why they present such a challenge; and describe efforts to understand them using ideas from string theory.
