Attoelectronvolt Spectroscopy in the Search for Teraelectronvolt New Physics: Thirty Orders of Magnitude in Leverage from Lepton Dipole Moment Experiments
Eric Cornell, University of Colorado
The JILA electron electric dipole moment (eEDM) experiment has recently published a measurement with record sensitivity. I will explain how we take advantage of molecules as Nature’s own high-electric-field laboratory. I will put recent experimental results on electric dipole moments and in magnetic dipole moments (g-2 experiments) of electrons and muons on an equal footing and discuss implications for the existence of as-yet undetected beyond-standard-model physics.
