Research
Prof. Schmitz is an experimental particle physicist whose research focuses on neutrinos and what they can reveal about fundamental symmetries and new physics. He is co-Spokesperson of the Short-Baseline Near Detector (SBND) experiment at Fermilab and a collaborator on the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), the next-generation long-baseline neutrino experiment currently under construction in the US.
