Professor Guyot-Sionnest's group is using quantum dots to improve infrared technology

In a study let by Postdoctoral research Xin Tang, and collaborators that include Department of Physics graduate student Menglu Chen, quantum dots were tuned to detect different parts of the infrared spectrum. This has led to a process that could make high-quality infrared cameras much more affordable. You can read more about their work in this UChicago News article. Their technical paper was published in the journal Nature Photonics.
